Description
中文（臺灣）：本圖為1982年（民國71年）時的溪口站木造站房，原址現已成為臺九線公路的一部分。溪口驛設立於1911年（明治44年）7月15日，鯉魚尾至溪口區間並於同日開通。戰後，溪口站屬三等站，後僅停靠一般普通車。由於溪口至南平區間需跨越支亞干溪（即今壽豐溪），列車行進時須經溪口村高繞至山邊，過橋後經林榮再降至南平。路線迂迴，且坡度起伏達千分之25，為窄軌時期的臺東線鐵路瓶頸路段之一。此種設計對列車行駛來說相當不便，尤其對牽引噸數重的貨物列車更加嚴重。臺灣鐵路管理局雖於1957年（民國46年）加設一條站內直線通過線，但仍舊無法有效解決坡度問題。加諸支亞干溪的河道淤積情況嚴重，對橋梁造成一定程度的危害。因此，臺灣鐵路管理局遂於1978年（民國67年）7月1日展開臺東線鐵路拓寬工程時，決議將溪口段改線，另設溪口新站，並新闢溪口河底隧道穿越支亞干溪。
