Description
English: A mound dedicated to the martyrs who died in the Shimabara and Amakusa Rebellion in the 17th century


Amakusa is a beautiful chain of islands on the west side of Kyushu. Close to Nagasaki, Amakusa was a haven for Christians in the 17th century. As such, there are many interesting Christian artifacts and rements on these isolate country islands.
