中文（臺灣）：本篇包含有〈高雄市議會大樓的故事〉及〈前進哈瑪星的各種方式〉。位於中正、自強路口的高雄市議會，在當地走過60年漫長歷史，對高雄市民來說已經成為民主的象徵。哈瑪星（包含新濱町與湊町）自日治時代開始發展，區域內許多歷史建築與小徑，見證了高雄市都市與港區之發展。
第一屆高雄市議員在1950年選出，當時的市議會為斜對面的消防局，每當開會皆需要向市府商借，頗為不便。新議會大樓的籌建自第三屆1954年開始，然而一直到第五屆之1961年才破土動工，然而，卻又因為徵收土地問題，延至1964年才重新動工，經過2年多的工期，於1966年10月26日完工啟用，從籌建至完工，共歷時9年餘。 哈瑪星是高雄市最早填海造陸的新市街，1908年雞籠到打狗的西部幹線全線通車，新湊町火車站完工，鐵路延伸到新濱碼頭港邊。如今不論是搭捷運或自行車等交通工具抵達哈瑪星，皆適合慢慢地觀看著歷史建物，享受著海風與歷史的交織，穿梭於巷弄與時光之間，才能真正的體會哈瑪星之美。 |
