中文（臺灣）：1943至1945年美軍進行臺灣航空照之拍攝，以此為基礎配合情報單位蒐集之各種地圖，繪製一萬分之一的「1944年臺灣城鎮美軍地圖」。地圖計有26幅，分別包含有五大都市、航空與陸軍基地、工業城鎮等，又高雄地區共有4張地圖，分別為岡山、鳳山、高雄、桃子園。左營地區地圖名為桃子園，係因為整張地圖以桃子園以北的海軍軍區為重點，故以此為名。
作者比對「1944年左營舊航照」與「1944年臺灣城鎮美軍地圖」，發現地圖有兩條特殊的地圖線，一為「大溝線」、一為「鐵路支線」。大溝線係串連原先後勁溪支流與清代遺留的南海大溝挖掘而成，全長約五公里，目前僅剩後勁溪旁約一公里的「廣昌之線」，屬日治時期之軍事遺蹟。另外，作者從美軍地圖發現左營軍區道路與宿舍區，皆保留到現今，如中正路、左楠路；宿舍群則包含現在的合群、明德以及建業新村。 從「1944年左營舊航照」與「1944年臺灣城鎮美軍地圖」中可以看到日治末期之左營軍港諸多設施，是高雄市日治時代極為珍貴的文獻史料。 |
