Description
中文（繁體）：橋頭糖廠於1902年1月15日正式壓榨，日壓200噸，自此掀起臺灣第一次工業革命，引領臺灣邁入輝煌的糖金時代，多年來為臺灣糖業創下多項指標紀錄，最後仍不敵經濟環境的急劇變化，終於在1999年2月28日壓榨最後一把甘蔗，結束一世紀的製糖作業。 原高雄縣政府（後因縣市合併為高雄市政府）為彰顯橋頭糖廠的特殊歷史地位，於1988年將本廠區列為縣定古蹟保存區，台糖公司則於2006年5月1日指定本廠區成立臺灣糖業現地博物館，目前廠區內保留有百年前第一座糖廠廠房的部分牆面留給民眾緬懷追憶，並開放製糖工場全貌，讓遊客親身感受到糖廠將甘蔗從運輸、壓榨、清淨、蒸發、結晶、分泌到包裝的實體流程，進一步了解到製糖的甘苦。
