中文（繁體）：在北埔聚落中，形式最特別的就屬忠恕堂，這棟建築物以其具有洋風的圍牆及特殊角度的門樓讓人留下深刻印象。北埔曾宅「忠恕堂」建於1922年，為清光緒年間北埔文科秀才曾學熙的後代曾成統，因在地經商致富後而興建。忠恕堂坐北朝南，與聚落朝向明顯不同，經地理風水師判斷，與鄰近姜氏家廟的燕尾脊相沖，犯「泥尖煞」。故曾氏改變曾宅院門的方位為西南向，使其屋頂軸線亦可交於秀巒山頂。而形成今日所見的特殊風貌。 |
