中文（臺灣）：新埔潘宅或稱潘氏古厝，為廣東省嘉應州梅縣西門外五里亭潘庶賢移居臺灣，在竹塹新埔所建的宅第。創建者潘庶賢於清乾隆五十一年（1786年）來臺，先是居住於中壢南勢，後被楊喜招為女婿。由於楊氏僅生一女，而且母女兩人皆早逝，所以家產被妻弟典當一空，因此，潘庶賢只好離開南勢到新埔與朋友合夥營生。在成功創業後，攜款回到南勢，贖回楊家典當的家產，並修建公祀。潘庶賢發達後，曾於嘉慶二十年（1815年）在鳳山溪坡谷北側，購地建宅，宅屋係以土墼為主要材料，成為新埔潘宅的雛形。 |
