中文（繁體）：明治30年(1897)旗後日人組織打狗俱樂部，捐款於旗後山麓設臨水宮夫人廟(主祀陳靖姑，今臺機修船廠址，原基督教長老會醫院南邊)為臨時校舍，成立「打狗國語(日語)傳習所」，並聘請鳳山國(日)語傳習所教諭橋本勝伸前來任教，同年6月14日舉行開學式，首期學生共14名。 明治31年(1898)因旗後人林璣璋等人加入，捐款不斷增加，學生亦增至36名。7月日人公布《臺灣公學校令》，陳中和等31名士紳於申請許可後，將打狗國語傳習所改設為「打狗公學校」，於10月1日創校，由橋本氏出任代校長。 明治36年(1903)第一屆畢業生有陳光燦、潘禎祥、陳福德、黃國祥、陳履雲等五名，日後各為打狗菁英人物。 明治40年(1907)4月首次招收女學生32名，但因風氣未開，竟無一人上學，直至明治44年(1911)因經濟發展，才有17名女學生入學。 大正2年(1913)開始於平和町今旗津國小現址，新築教室四間、廁所及辦公室等校舍。翌年4月1日，正式由臨水宮夫人廟遷校至現址。 大正10年(1921)改稱高雄第一公學校(俗稱一公)，並附設商業補習學校及幼稚園。二次大戰末期，因美軍飛機轟炸次數激增，一公乃奉命疏散至壽山國民學校(今鼓岩國小)至二戰結束，翌年改名旗津國民學校。 1945年二戰後，校友林守盤先生出任首任臺籍校長，改為高雄市第一國民學校，翌年又改名旗津國民學校。 |
