Description
中文（中国大陆）：开元寺镇国塔于唐咸通年间（860–874 年）建造，原为木制塔。宋绍兴二十五年（1155 年）和宝庆三年（1227 年），两次罹于火灾，改为砖塔。嘉熙二年(1238 年)始改建石塔，淳熙十年(1250 年)建成。它的建筑形制与仁寿塔（西塔）基本相同，高度48.27米，较仁寿塔高3.21米。而镇国塔建筑的时间则比仁寿塔晚了10 年。按一寺双塔的制两塔的规划与设计可能同时就决定了，只是施工有先后而已。 开元寺大雄宝殿前东西两侧，有一对石构空心塔。东塔名镇国塔，西塔名仁寿塔，两塔相距约二百米，全部仿木结构建造，为我国现存最高大的一对石塔。 双塔是可以登临的同类型石塔中做工最精细的，其建筑细部较忠实地反映南宋时福建地区的木构建筑的风格
