Description

2012年11月7日、長野県上田市の上田城跡公園にある「平和の鐘」。自然光と人工の光がうまく調和していました。

もともとこの鐘楼に吊るされていた「時の鐘」は1677年以前から時を告げていましたが、太平洋戦争時に徴発されなくなってしまいました。その後、二度と悲惨なことが起きぬよう、1973年に上田市民が「平和の鐘」として復元したそうです。


11/07/2012, Peace Bell in Uedajyo-Castle Remains in Ueda, Nagano, Japan. The illumination and the natural light were well matched.

A bell was originally hung on the bell tower at least since 1677 before the one now. But during the Pacific War it was impressed by the government. In 1973, people of Ueda rebuilt it as “Peace Bell,” praying for peace.
