Description
中文(繁體):宗聖公祠供奉「宗聖」曾子、曾子父親曾點、曾姓遠祖夏禹王及六堆客家曾氏宗族歷代祖先,是臺灣著名的客家宗祠。創建於日昭和2年(1927),這也是屏東縣第一個透過土地徵收搶救的古蹟。

內部特徵

自中軸線起空間自前而後依序為門樓、禾坪、前廳、天井與過水、與後廳;左、右橫屋則為間房、左、右堂及間房。前廳以中、邊門作主要出入通道,內部上方左右原各掛鐘、鼓一座。後廳為宗祠之主要中心,廳內之空間高聳,加上精緻華美之木屋架,木雕及彩畫,再配以重複出現之匾額、楹聯等,形塑該空間作為一祭祀用途。 宗祠木結構部分,三川殿及正殿的三通五瓜疊四斗的斗拱,是葉萬金老匠司的晚年傑作,三川殿大通的彩繪是當年臺南名師陳玉峰的名作「八仙過海」,在裝飾工藝方面,剪黏帶騎及文場人物、走獸、花卉都非常生動,特別是龍的造型,配合建築機能,在各部位都有特殊的造型設計,值得品味與學習。 其泥塑部分,則以三川殿對看牆的龍、虎堵最為精采,當年由新竹、臺南二派匠司分別承造,在「拼場」過程中各出絕活,後由新竹匠司獲得彩金。
