Description

大理城（包括城墙、城楼）
大理，汉代称叶榆。公元764年，唐代南诏在此建羊苴咩城，又称紫城。公元779年，南诏迁都至此。宋代大理国仍以此为都城。历唐、宋代五百多年直至元代，这里一直是云南及滇西地区的政治、经济、文化中心。明代洪武十五年（公元1382年），将原城改建为方形城。城四面建城门楼，四角建角楼，城内建“五华楼”。现大理古城基本保留了明代格局，残存部份城墙，南北城门楼为公元1984年重建。公元1985年大理市人民政府公布为重点文物保护单位。
保护范围：大理古城四周城墙遗址两侧外各5米为界；南城楼，南至双鹤桥南5米为界；北至狮子桥北5米为界。建设控制地带执行大理古城保护规划的规定。
