Description
中文（臺灣）：本文說明阿公店溪新舊河道的前後變遷與水患整治的影響，並從中探討該溪對於岡山地區是十分重要的水利資源。

本文共分為6個部分。一為阿公店溪整治簡介，簡述該溪流經的區域與出海口，並分析南部的降雨量大而集中氣候背景是促使溪流經常氾濫的主要原因；二為阿公店溪水患史，從目前現有史料或石碑，大概從清領時期就有水患的出現，到日治時期依然存在此問題，其相關記載則較為詳實，故開始進行河川整治工程，共為兩階段，一是阿公店溪中下游的截彎取直、二是建造阿公店水庫防洪。但是到了戰後政府遷臺時，因颱風的關係也造成阿公店溪周遭區域演淹水的災情；三為日治時期的水患整治，詳細記載對於該溪的整治，共歷經四個階段，由原有的舊河道變更成新河道；四為阿公店溪新舊河道對照，利用日治時期的岡山都市計畫圖、岡山街道圖與航照圖來進行比對分析，整體河道設計更為流暢而非彎曲；五為舊河道尋訪及照片說明，收錄許多作者親自到河道現場拍攝的相片；六為阿公店溪整治後對岡山街發展影響，說明在河道整治前後對於岡山的地位形成更加穩固作用，成為北高雄的城市重心。

透過河道整治的過程、水患的影響等角度，使我們了解到聚落發展與水文分布具有彼此息息相關的性質。
