中文:喬治·新克喇·摩西(George Sinclair Moss),一千八百八十二年四月二十六日生於橫濱。幼受私塾教育。又留學於德國、瑞士、及倫敦。一千九百零二年來華。是年七月二十一日任駐華學生通事。歷任職於北京、福州、漢口及北海等處。一千九百十三年至十五年任威海衞縣官。一千九百十六年調任外交部。一千九百十六年十一月至一千九百十八年十一月任歐戰華工招募部華祕書及副官。調任軍機部代表。設辦公處於靑島。一千九百十九年四月一日升任英國副領事。一千九百二十一年至二十三年五月任漢口英副領事。後調任上海英代理領事。
English: Moss, George Sinclair M.B.E.

Born in Yokohama, April 26, 1882. Educated at Private Schools, Germany, Switzerland and King's College, London. Came to China in 1902. Passed a competitive examination and appointed a Student Interpreter in China, July 21, 1902. Served at Peking, Foochow, Hankow and Pakhoi. District Officer and Magistrate at Weihaiwei, 1913-1915. Employed in the Foreign Office in 1916. Served as Chinese Secretary and Principal Assistant to the War Office Representative for the recruitment of Chinese Labour from November 1916 to November 1918, when he was appointed War Office Representative, with headquarters at Tsingtao. Promoted to be one

of H.M. Vice-Consuls in China April 1, 1919. Vice-Consul at Hankow, 1921 to May 1923 when transferred to Shanghai as Acting Consul.
