Description
中文（臺灣）：北關位於頭城鎮梗枋附近，北通三貂嶺，南通烏石港，巨岩鳞列、地勢險要，清嘉慶年間，為防止盜匪侵犯，通判高大鏞上書奏請於此設置關隘，駐兵屯營，遂居昔日蘭陽之鎖；又其下臨海洋，海濤洶湧，驚濤裂岸，氣象萬千，一波波浪濤湧進石腹之中，潮聲迴盪，不絕於耳，並據《噶瑪蘭廳志》有載：「蘭城鎖鑰扼山腰，雪浪飛騰響怒潮。」故自清代北關就以怒濤湧潮著稱，被噶瑪蘭廳通判烏竹芳列為蘭陽八景之一，自始便有「北關海潮」之名。1953年，宜蘭縣第一屆民選縣長盧纘祥先生為編纂《宜蘭縣志》，重整文獻並四處訪幽尋勝，將蘭陽八景之外增選《新蘭陽八景》時，「北觀海濤」亦名列其中，可見其海潮洶湧之險，澎湃壯闊之景，驚濤拍岸之勢，實蔚為壯觀。
