蒙古人の鞋屋 （張家口）

寫眞は張家口に住む蒙占人の鞋屋の看板である。一見したところなんだ二枚の板に鞋の繪いただけではないかと云ふが、よく見ると擔から出た二本の看板吊り棒の先きには鳥の形をした物かついてゐるが更に屋根を見ると小鳥の形をしたものを澤山作つて結びつないで下げてある。何の意味か知らないが筆者の考へでは支那人の草鞋には羽毛を織こんで防寒用としてゐるから、或は蒙古人も小鳥の羽毛を織こんだ溫い鞋を作つて賣つてゐると云ふ知らせではあるまいか。｜（印畫の複製を禁ず）
