元の土城 （薊門煙樹）

今の北京城は、明の築城に係る、元城の北至は、現城壁の北至より、五支里北方に當る、德勝、安定兩門外に蜿蜒と遺存せる土城がそれである、圖は北至より約二支里の南方に位する西壁關門の跡である、關門を「薊門」又は「土城關」と呼ぶ、北邊一帶はもと薊州の地にて、館舍高樓建て連なりたれど、今は悉く荒廢し、唯林木蓊翳として蒼翠の色深く、燕京八景の一となつて居る、壁上の碑は、乾隆帝の建立に係り、碑面に「薊門煙樹」の四大文字、碑陰には御製の詩を刻してある。
