Bronze Sculpture "Mi Fu Worshipping Stone"
Summary
20240608.jpg |
English: Mi Fu (1051-1107) was a calligrapher and painter in the Northern Song Dynasty (960-1127). He liked to collect metal and stone relics , especially grotesque - shaped stones . Legend goes that he was delighted to see an extremely ugly stone in Wuwei Prefecture , and he then dressed up to worship it and even venerated it as his elder brother . Hence , Mi Fu was hailed as a " man obsessed with stones ". A line of the poem he wrote for the Duojing Tower ," No .1 tower of mountains and rivers under heaven ", once appeared on a plaque of the Yellow Crane Tower during the late Ming Dynasty and the early Qing Dynasty.
The bronze sculpture ,2 meters in height and more than a ton in weight , was created by sculptor Xiang Jinguo . |
