Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Just next to Plaza Hidalgo comes “Edificio Oradour”, a place with not much appeal to it rather than its closeness to “Jardín Hidalgo”. Despite this, the building possesses a very interesting story. Its name comes from the French commune “Oradour-Sur-Glane” which was attacked by the Nazis in 1944. Struck by the terrible news, Rene Dubernard, a French man who was left with the house of Dr. Joaquín Lara (Agustin Lara’s father) named the building “Oradour” to commemorate the tragic event. Nowadays, it serves as an office and market building.
