English: The church of San Antonio de Padua or “Iglesia de Panzacola” is a temple from the XVII century, known to be for many years the entrance to Coyoacan’s center through Francisco Sosa street. The church itself is small and not too striking at first sight, but the building itself has one of the biggest mysteries yet to be solved from Coyoacan. The doubt surrounding this place goes to who built it. The most common theory is that Pedro de Alvarado is the one responsible, nevertheless, there are other people who tell a different story. A long time ago, a family of smugglers lived there. In the middle of their shady business, they got caught and promised San Antonio de Padua to build a Church if he got them out of prison. He did, and they accomplished their promise. This however unlikely, this could be true since most of the dates and stuff inside the church match with the ones from all around Coyoacan.
