Description
English: The Divisional Fast Patrol Craft (abbreviation DFPC) is 11m long, 2.5m wide with a 0.6m water displacement. It has 6 seats. It is driven by two 275-horsepower outboard engine with a water displacement of up to 4.8 tons. It get reach a speed of up to 50 nautical miles, and is equipped with state-of-the-art instruments, including differential global positioning system, electronic compass, electronic charts, detectors and radars, etc. The boats are made in Australia with a price tag of HK$2 million (~US$125k). A total of 23 crafts were introduced to Hong Kong since 2008 in four batches to replace the harbor patrol boats which were in service since the early 1980s.
