വെള്ളില എന്നും വെളിയില എന്നും വെളിയിലതാളി എന്നും മലയാളികൾ പറയുന്ന സസ്യം. ശാഖകൾക്ക് ബലം കുറവായതിനാൽ മറ്റു സസ്യങ്ങളുടെ താങ്ങ് കിട്ടിയാൽ ആറ് മീറ്റർ വരെ ഉയർന്ന് വളരുന്നതായി കാണാം. മലയാളികൾ പണ്ട്കാലം മുതൽ മുടി കഴുകുമ്പോൾ വെള്ളിലയുടെ ഇരുണ്ട പച്ചനിറമുള്ള ഇലകൾ ഇടിച്ചുപിഴിഞ്ഞ് ‘താളി’ ആയി ഉപയോഗിക്കാറുണ്ട്. മുടിയിലെ താരൻ അകറ്റാനും വ്രണങ്ങൾ മാറ്റാനും ഈ സസ്യത്തിന് കഴിവുണ്ട്.
