Description
English: Botanical name - Enterolobium saman

Common names - Rain tree; Monkeypod Tamil name – SIMAI VAKAI (சீமை வாகை) This tree is known for its absorption of CO2 ;Root decoction is used for 

stomach cancer ; Tree is a traditional remedy for colds, diarrhea, headache,

intestinal ailments and stomachache. The leaf infusion is used as a laxative; Seeds are chewed for sore throat. Alchoolic extract of the leaves inhibits Tuberculosis;Fruit decoction is used as a sedative.
