தமிழ்: (Tamil) - காட்டுப் பாதா மரம், பீநாறி , பேரிலவம் , குதிரைப் புடுக்கு – என்ற வேறு பெயர்கள் இம் மரத்திற்கு உண்டு ; மர எண்ணெய் , தாவர எரிபொருளாகும்; இந்த எண்ணெய் பூச்சிக் கொல்லியாகவும் பயன்படுகிறது ; இசைக்கருவிகள், செய்ய இம் மரம் ஏற்றது ; மரப்பட்டை , கயிறு தயாரிக்கவும் பயன்படும்; இதன் பருப்பு உண்ணத் தக்கது.

Gum from bark is used for book binding ; Seeds are edible ; Oil from plant is useful as biodiesel ; Oil is also utilized as insecticide ; Laeves’ function as fodder is notable; Timber is suitable to make musical instruments ;It has been found out that leaves contain Sterculic acid; From bark cordages are made ; Flower smells foul. Picture - Beatles taste fruits of Sterculia foetida !Stone red colour of the ripe fruit can be seen on the wings of beatles ! |
