பச்சை விரிப்பு விரித்தாற்போல நீர்நிலைகளில் காணப்படும் ; வெகு வேகமாக வளர்ந்து குளம் முழுவதையும் அடைத்துக்கொள்ளும்;சிறுமீன்கள் போன்ற நீர் உயிர்களுக்கு அடைக்கலம் தருவது ; புரொட்டீன் சத்து இதில் நிரம்ப உள்ளதாகக் கண்டுபிடித்துள்ளனர்; காற்றிலிருந்து கார்பன்டை ஆக்சைடைக் கிரகிக்கும் தன்மை இதற்கு உண்டு என்கின்றனர் ; ஹோமியோபதியில் இதிலிருந்து டிஞ்சர் தயாரித்து நாள்பட்ட மூக்கடைப்பைப் போக்குகின்றனர் .
