An iwan (Persian: ایوان eyvān, Arabic: إيوان Iwan, also spelled ivan, Turkish: eyvan)[1][2] is a rectangular hall or space, usually vaulted, walled on three sides, with one end entirely open.
L'iwan (in persiano eyvān; in arabo anche līwān) è un elemento tipico dell'architettura islamica.
Iwan, auch Aiwan oder Liwan (persisch ایوان aiwān, ayvān, arabisch إيوان, DMG īwān, līwān, letzteres arabisch umgangssprachlich von al-īwān, türkisch eyvan), bezeichnet in den mittelalterlichen arabischen und persischen Texten in den meisten Fällen den bedeutendsten Teil eines Palastes, also die Audienzhalle, unabhängig von deren architektonischer Gestalt oder im weiteren Sinn das Gebäude insgesamt.
イーワーン(ペルシア語: ایوان eyvān, アラビア語: إيوان īwān, 英語: Iwan)とは、イスラーム建築によくみられる、一方が完全に開き、三方が壁で囲まれて、天井がアーチ状となっているホールまたは空間。
ایوان کسی محرابی چھت والے دالان یا ہال کو کہتے ہیں۔ ایوان ایک مستطیل شکل کا محل یا جگہ ہے۔ اس کی تینوں طرف بند اور ایک طرف کھلی رہتی ہیں۔
