Description

אנשים יכולים לזהות חמישה טעמים בלבד: מלוח, מר, חמוץ, מתוק ואומאמי שפירושו ביפאנית "טעים". איור ודה, שיטת טיפול של הרפואה ההוליסטית שמקורה בהודו, מכירה ששה טעמים: מתוק, חמוץ, מלוח, חריף, מר, מכווץ. ישנם בסך הכל 63 צירופים אפשריים של שישה טעמים בסיסיים אלה. לאחרונה מדענים מוסיפים גם טעם מתכתי (Metalic) . אני הייתי מוסיף לרשימה זו גם את הטעם התפל, שהוא בעצם טעם נטול מלח. מכאן גם צרוף המלים "התפלת מים" שמשמעו סינון המלחים שבהם
