Русский: Сегодня в столице Карелии насчитывается более десяти фонтанов, один из которых — фонтан «Молекула» — находится напротив главного корпуса Петрозаводского государственного университета, в нескольких минутах ходьбы от железнодорожного вокзала.
Фонтан появился в Студенческом сквере Петрозаводска в 1996 году. Его создателем стал Евгений Таев, ныне главный архитектор города. Необычная композиция состоит из трёх элементов: фонтана, скульптуры в форме многогранника молекулы фуллерена и стелы с парусником. Автор выбрал именно этот вид молекулы неслучайно: молекулярное соединение фуллерен, относящееся к классу аллотропных форм углерода, было обнаружено в уникальном целебном минерале шунгите, который добывается только в Карелии. |
