DescriptionСлава на миньорския труд - Минната дирекция, Перник България, Pernik - Coal Mines Directorate, Bulgaria Jan 1995.jpg |
Former Mining Directorate in Pernik, Bulgaria. The building is used today as a bank. The slogan „Слава на миньорския труд“ [Slava na minyorskiya trud], translated as Glory to the mining work, still appears on the building. A crossed hammer and sickle sculpture was installed on top of its clock tower later. The building was designed in 1932 by the architects Kosta Nikolov (1891-1961, Коста Николов) and Iliya Popov (1875-1962, Илия Попов) from Novo Selo (Vidin Oblast). Nikolov has designed several buildings in Vidin and Druzhba (now called: Saints Constantine and Helena) holiday resort near Varna. Popov has designed the Mausoleum of Antim I in Vidin in 1934. |
