Description
English: Solovetsky Monastery on the Solovetsky Islands in Onega Bay of the White Sea, Russia. It was used as the Solovki Special Purpose Camp or Solovki prison camp between 1937 and 1939, the first Soviet gulag. This photograph was taken from the northwest.
