English: A phosphor is a substance that has the property of glowing when excited, ie showing luminescence. Phosphors are widely used in electronics, for example, they cover the screen of an electrostatic tube, where their glow when bombarded by electrons forms an image, in scintillation counters and the like. By the time of illumination, phosphors can be divided into fluorophores and phosphors, according to the fluorescence and phosphorescence that are inherent in them. |
