Русский: Битва при Поплар-Гров. Это изображение было использовано для иллюстрирования статьи «Поплар-Гров» опубликованной в восемнадцатом томе «Военной энциклопедии», который был издан книгоиздательским товариществом И. Д. Сытина в 1915 году в столице Российской империи городе Санкт-Петербурге. Более подробное описание к этому рисунку можно прочесть в указанной выше статье на сайте Русской Викитеки.
English: Battle of Poplar Grove. was an incident on 7 March 1900 during the Second Boer War in South Africa. It followed on from the Relief of Kimberley as the British Army moved to take the Boer capital of Bloemfontein. The Boers were demoralised following the surrender of Piet Cronjé at the Battle of Paardeberg. General Sir John French's cavalry attacked the Boer force from the rear while mounted infantry and horse artillery attacked from the right flank. The Boers abandoned their positions in panic before the cavalry. The commander-in-chief of the Free State forces, Christiaan de Wet, in his book called the chapter on the subject "Wild Flight from Poplar Grove".
Afrikaans: Die Slag van Poplar Grove het plaasgevind op 7 Maart 1900 langs die Modderrivier, Vrystaat, Suid-Afrika net noord van Petrusburg. Die slag staan ook bekend as die Slag van Abrahamskraal. Hier het generaal Christiaan de Wet gepoog om die Britse opmag, na die oorgawe van generaal Piet Cronje by Paardeberg, te stuit. Die poging was vrugteloos en lord Roberts het Bloemfontein op 15 Maart 1900 beset.
Français : La bataille de Poplar Grove fut une bataille de la seconde Guerre des Boers tenue le 7 mars 1900. La victoire britannique ouvrit, après une dernière bataille à Driefontein le 10 mars, la voie à la capture de la capitale de l'État libre d'Orange Bloemfontein le 13 mars.
