Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Zelnik is a traditional Macedonian pastry made of thin kneaded dough, filled with curd and spinach (also filled with leek, chard or cabbage) and rolled in a swirl form, symbolizing the whole and willingness to share. Zelnik is a pivot of the Badnik dinner table and allegory of warmth of home and fireplace. Perfect meal for sharing with family and friends, or strangers, as a gesture of Macedonian hospitality. Served with homemade sour milk, recommended.
