В 1915-1916 г. по заказу МПС России в Канаде и США было заказано около 8000 грузовых крытых вагонов. Конструкции вагонов этого заказа оказали большое влияние на последующие отечественные разработки в области вагоностроения. Вагон 714-160 (номер условный) построен в 1915 г. в Нью-Глазго, Канада. В 1961 г. на Вологодском вагоностроительном заводе переоборудован в дизель-электростанцию. Передан музею локомотивным депо Сибирцево Дальневосточной железной дороги в 1992 г. Реставрирован летом 2001 года в вагонном депо Тосно.

Over 8,000 bogie freight vans were ordered in Canada and the USA in 1915-16 for the Russian Ministry of Railways. Later Soviet production of wagons was deeply influenced by the design of these foreign wagons. Van No 704-349 (the number is notional) was built by the New Glasgow Works, Canada, In 1915. Rebuilt as a diesel-electric power station by Vologda works in 1961. Received by the museum from Sibirtsevo depot (Far Eastern Railway) in 1992. Restored at the Tosno wagon depot in summer 2001.
