Українська: Вид прісноводних черепах. В фауні України є єдиним представником ряду Черепах.

Ареал виду охоплює Південну та Центральну Європу, Передню Азію та північно-західну частину Африки. В Україні мешкає у річках басейну Чорного моря та в Криму. Трапляється у лісових, лісостепових та степових районах, де заселяє болота, плавні, озера, ставки, річкові затоки з мулистим дном.

Ця черепаха живе у річці Саржинка у Харкові. Вона сфотографована 28 червня 2022 року.
English: A species of freshwater turtle. In the fauna of Ukraine, it is the only representative of the order Turtles.

The range of the species covers Southern and Central Europe, Eastern Asia and the northwestern part of Africa. In Ukraine, it lives in the rivers of the Black Sea basin and in the Crimea. It occurs in forest, forest-steppe and steppe areas, where it inhabits swamps, marshes, lakes, ponds, river bays with a muddy bottom.

This turtle lives in the Sarzhynka River in Kharkiv. She was photographed on June 28, 2022.
