Description
Svenska: År 1743 nedtogs klockstapeln vid Östra Ny kyrka, och år 1747 byggdes det nuvarande kyrktornet (se årtalet på framsidan av tornet). Tegel hämtades från Stegeborgs slott. Lars Schenmark som var prost då lät inreda en gravkammare innanför södra tornväggen. Platsen är utmärkt med en minnestavla på ytterväggen. Dess text lyder: "HÄR HWILA PROSTEN LARS SCHENMARK, FÖDD I SKENINGE 1694. KYRKOHERDE I ÖSTRA NY 1738, DÖD 1773, MED SINA TWÄNNE HUSTRUR: BRITA WÅHLIN, FÖDD 1698, GIFT 1712, DÖD 1750, MODER FÖR 5 SÖNER OCH 4 DÖTTRAR, SAMT ELISABETH M. COLLANDER, FÖDD 1716, GIFT 1751, DÖD 1777, MODER FÖR 2 SÖNER."
