Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Coat of arms originally created for the of the, then Swedish, province of Åland. However due to a misunderstanding the arms came to be used by the province of Öland instead. Once the mistake was discovered (1940s) Öland changed their arms whilst Åland decided to keep the one they had been using. In order to avoid further confusion the arms taken by Öland features a collar and has hoofs, tongue and antlers in a different tincture.

Other versions
