| Description |
Some houses in the old center of Öhringen in 1960. They are not half-timbered, but they may have been built that way and plastered over to reduce fire hazard. If so, some have probably been restored by now. (One likely candidate is the large house left of the fountain.) The fountain was probably the main water supply at one time. Öhringen is about 20 km (12 miles) east of Heilbronn. The area east of Heilbronn was ruled by several branches of the Hohenlohe family in olden times. One branch of the family had its palace in Öhringen. The location is approximate. |
