Description
Français : Situé dans la partie est de l’Ariège, le plateau du Donezan est orienté vers la Méditerranée entre le pays de Sault (Aude) et le Capcir (Pyrénées Orientales). Il est relié au Sabarthès (Haute Ariège) par le col de Pailhères. Quérigut est le chef-lieu de ce canton essentiellement forestier (forêts des Hares et de Bragues). Sa végétation principalement composée de résineux et la présence de nombreux étangs (Rabassoles, Balbonne, Laurenti entre autres) avec en arrière plan le Roc Blanc comme repère rappellent les paysages canadiens et lui ont valu le surnom de « Québec ariégeois ».
