Summary

[edit]
Description
English:
Region house and event venue. A 18th century thatched roof building complex, with two dwelling buildings and farm buildings at the former lakeshore of Hód Lake. Built to János Nagy György. Sold to the city in 1974. Listed. Porches were covered by wood now tiled. The two very large rooms were originally connected in the middle by a kitchen with free chimneys (collapsed in the 1950s). The rooms are heated with large ovens. In one of these ovens, they could bake 6-7 loaves of bread at the same time. The building, closer to the former lakeside, was originally built at the end of the 18th century but burned down in the 19th century. The current plan layout is the result of multiple reconstructions. The roof tile is also more recent. In addition to the residential building, the storage chambers, shed and stables were later built. There was also a military room,- in the 18th cent., the soldiers were housed in the more affluent, larger houses,-between the living room overlooking the street and the kitchen. There was also a military stable too. There is a cellar at back of the building. In addition to the private stables, there were four pigsty in the farmyard, which refers to the former serious animal husbandry. On the occasion of the renovation of the building complex in 1983, the City Museum furnished the kitchen and the military room with the objects of the 19th-century peasant household in the building with the tiled roof. The former living room overlooking the street remodelled to the caretaker's apartment. - 21 Árpád Street, Nagy Imre Promenade and Nagy Imre Square, Hódmezővásárhely, Csongrád-Csanád County, Hungary.
