Title
?Iron Age pin
Description
English: ?Incomplete copper alloy ?Iron Age pin, possibly missing part of its shank. It is 40mm in length and weighs 3.84g.
The shank is circular in section and is 3-3.5mm in diameter. At the finished end, the pin turns 90° into a short arm. On the end of this is a widened U shape, or C shape on its side, the C being 5-6mm wide and 3mm thick. The short arm is 2.5mm wide and 3.5mm thick. It is 5mm long, including the width of the top part of the pin (3.5mm).
At the other end the shank has possibly broken, ?been cut, but the metal is quite worn. The metal is bluey-green in colour and the surface shiny - it has apparantly been treated.
