| Description |
Het spoor in Den Bosch vormde lange tijd een barrière tussen het oude stadscentrum en het Paleiskwartier. De Paleisbrug heeft daar verandering in gebracht. Op de nieuwe brug is een verhoogd stadspark aangelegd met lage beplanting zoals grassen en struiken. De brug heeft aan beide zijden een opgang met trappen en een lift. De bouw is gestart in 2012, de oplevering vond plaats in 2015. ProRail bouwde de brug in opdracht van de gemeente Den Bosch. In sommige publicaties werd gesuggereerd dat deze brug vergelijkbaar zou zijn met High Line Park in New York City. Dat is in het geheel niet het geval. High Line Park is aangelegd op een vervallen spoorlijn die op flinke hoogte dwars tussen de huizen van NYC loopt. Deze brug is slechts 250m lang met wat plantjes en boompjes. Niks meer niks minder. Een mooie nuttige brug, geen publiekstrekker. |
