Summary

Description
English: The "New Ukrainian" wheat-with-rye bread, baked for Pyatyorochka store chain, is the cheapest bread currently on sale in Moscow. As of end of July 2024, a 650-gram brick costs 20 roubles, currently 23 US cents, or 21 Euro cents. This is traditional heavy, sour, unappetizing Soviet gray bread. Good for carb-conscious. The label says it contains only wheat, water, rye, salt and yeast, no preservatives or any E-stoffe or other funny substances. Shelf life is 4 days, but at this price it sell much faster. Why would they retain "Ukrainian" name in the middle of a war (another very common inexpensive gray bread is "Darnitsky", also after a place in Ukraine) - your guess is just as mine.
