Description

Group photo of the attendees of the "Year of Programming" symposium held at the Four Seasons Hotel in downtown Austin, Texas in 1988. I did not take this photo, but I am in it. So are some great computer scientists, such as Edsger W.Dijkstra, John W. Backus, C. A. R. Hoare, Peter Wegner, David Turner, Richard S. Bird, Samson Abramsky, etc. The topic of discussion at this six-day symposium was Functional Programming.

If you know who any of the other unidentified people in this photo are, please add a note or comment on it. Thank you.
