English: "Useful" stile You weren't hoping to walk on this footpath, were you?
Depicted in this picture are the railings of the bridge which takes the B1382 (in foreground) over the river, and the top of the gate (on the other side and lower down) which gives access to the path (the Fen Rivers Way long distance footpath) along the river. There is no stile and no fence to clamber over. South of the bridge the footpath follows the eastern bank of the river before it merges with the road (the name of which I can't find, if it has one), leading under the railway bridge that crosses said unnamed (?) road and onto the B1382, and across the road bridge (in westerly direction) from there. A path/track on the other end of the bridge leads past the property adoining the converted St Etheldreda's church and directly to said gate. |
