| Description |
English: "The Jacobite" departs from Mallaig. Regular summer steam hauled trains have operated on the West Highland line between Fort William and Mallaig for many years now. Several different locomotives have been used, being based at Fort William for the season. The one in this view is a class B1 61264, which has operated on the West Highland line services for four seasons. When not operating in Scotland, it is based at Loughborough on the Great Central Railway, but, because of its main line certification, may be seen almost anywhere in the country. It is one of only two remaining loco's of the class which originally numbered 410. |
