Text Appearing Before Image:
16 WERNICH SEED CO.'S ANNUAL CATALOGUE, MILWAUKEE, WIS. # RECLEANED NORTHERN GROWN SEED OATS.
Text Appearing After Image:
$25.00 Two Grand New Oats. $25.00 We will give to the one that grows the largest number of bushels from one Peck of either of these two new kinds of Seed Oats, the sum of Twenty-five Dollars. m&H^m ONE THING THOUGH, AND THAT IS, These two new Oats will not yield 25Q Bushels to the Acre. Some Dealers have such wonderful Oats, we, sorry to say have not. We will not exaggerate, but simply give a short description of both kinds: Wernich's Dnppaner Oats. — "New."— Its good points are: ls\, long, stiff straw; 2nd, it will never lodge; 3d, the kernels are plump, wku a thin hull: 4th, it is very heavy and a good yielder; 5th, its color is per- fect. Wernicli's Columbus Oats—New. This does not differ very much from the preceding, excepting color. Price of Dnppaner or Columbus. 1 lb., prepaid, 25c; by express or freight, not prepaid, per peck, $1.00; 1 peck of each for $1.50. CONTESTANTS must buy at least one peck of either in order to compete, and, when writing us the results, must accompany same with a sworn statement by a Notary. OTHER SORTS. White Probstier.—(New Seed.) 'This we believe to be the best oats ever intro- duced, be it grown in the North, East. South or West. It has never been known to fail. Our stock this year is grown from new seed, imported two years ago, and the seeding of which we gave our personal attention at the time. Peck 30c, bu. $1.00, 2V2 bu. $2.25, 10 bu. $8.00. Yellow Probstier.—Extremely hardy, makes a strong stool and grows with vigor and rapidity. Do not compare this oats with the variety known as Yellow French, which is a good oats, but cannot compete with the Yellow Probstier for earliness, heaviness or production. It will grow anywhere, and being rust proof, will grow under all climatic conditions where o its will grow. Peck 30c, bu. $1.00, 2% bu. $2.25, 10 bu. $8.00. Black Probstier.—We believe that in this oats we have the best black oats sold for seed purposes. Unequaled in the stiffness or strength of the straw, nothing less than a tornado or a cy- clone will lodge them. Peck 30c, bu. 90c, 2% bu. $2.00, 10 bu. $7.50. Silver Mine Oats.—Too well known to need any further description. Peck 30c, bu. 80c, 2% bu. $1.85, 10 bu. $7.50.
