I had always planned to get up and shoot on Friday morning at Cronulla, and how I was rewarded for my early start. Possibly the most impressive colour I have seen for a sunrise. Just before the sun cleared the horizon the entire sky was a rich, vibrant red and the reflection of the colour in the clouds and on the damp sand was truly stunning.

It was a bit of an odd morning, eerie and very quiet - very calm water as well. I didn't see another photographer out and about which is quite unusual on the beach (maybe everyone else decided to sleep in on the first morning of the holidays???).
