Under tow The "Ocean Majesty" has just passed under the Emirates Air Line cable car link across the River Thames at North Greenwich ( Built by Doppelmayr with sponsorship from the airline Emirates. The service opened on 28 June 2012 and is operated by Transport for London.) To the right of the leading tugboat "The Quantum Cloud" is a contemporary sculpture, designed by Antony Gormley, located next to the Millennium Dome in London. The sculpture was commissioned for the site and was completed in 1999. The leading tug "ZP Bear" and the trailing tug "RT Evolution" are taking the ship up the River and through Tower Bridge where it will be tied up alongside "HMS Belfast" in the "pool of London" for the duration of its visit. The passengers will have a good view as Tower Bridge opens to allow the ship through and into the pool. Ocean Majesty is a passenger (cruise) ship built in 1966 and currently sailing under the flag of Portugal. Ocean Majesty has 136m length overall and beam of 23m. Her gross tonnage is 10417 tons. |
