Description
English: "November 12th, 1874: Price of sewing machine about half ways between Belleville & Smithville. Barrett agreed to exchange machines and give a good one in place of the one left at my house. The next day was clear but cold."

"13th: Fine day left Madoc in the morning & walked to Queensboro. Took dinner at A.Diamonds R. Rayburn there he gave me Bills of Sundries sent to Murphys, Welshes & Genarouxs Shantys. Rode from there to Linghams flats with Thos Lingham & walked from there to Genarouxs Shanty where Lingham & I staid over night. Borrowed a gun from L. Bisket."
"Nover 14th 1874: Fine warm day sun shining. Left Genarouxs in the morning walked to Murphys Shanty distance about 10 miles. Called at Jas Mellons on the way. John Gartland & Mellon repairing sleighs at Depot. Staid at Murphys Shanty all night. Shot a partridge on the Road"
"Sunday 15th 1874: Dark cloudy day snow on ground fell last night. I staid at Murphys wnt out with Murphy in theafter noon to look for Pine. Took the Gun along and shot four partridges."
